On our quarterly cleanup dates listed below, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will pick up bags of litter that are left on designated Adopt-A-Highway roads and the City of Columbia will pickup for Adopt-A-Street.
Although these Saturdays are the designated litter pickup days, your group may pick up litter and leave bags anytime during the quarterly cleanup weekends listed below (Friday, Saturday or Sunday). Please do not leave bags earlier than this as they tend to deteriorate and/or break open causing more litter.

2025 Dates:
- Saturday, February 8, 2025
- Saturday, May 17, 2025
- Saturday, August 16, 2025
- Saturday, November 15, 2025
2026 Dates:
- Saturday, February, 14, 2026
- Saturday, May 16, 2026
- Saturday, August 15, 2026
- Saturday, November 21, 2026
In the case of substantial rain, the pickup will automatically be postponed until the following Saturday.
If your group is unable to participate on the scheduled pickup day, you may select another day but you must make plans to properly dispose of your trash bags after the pickup. SCDOT will only pick up bags on the days listed above.
