OLD – How does it Work? (AAW)

How does the program work?

Volunteer groups select an island, boat landing or section of river or creek and conduct litter pickups at least two times a year for two years.

Groups are encouraged to conduct one pickup on the third Saturday of September in conjunction with Beach Sweep River Sweep sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources. The second pickup should take place during the Great American Cleanup between March 1 and May 31. Groups can conduct additional pickups on their preferred date(s).

KMB supplies trash bags and gloves and has a limited number of hip waders available for volunteer groups to borrow. All volunteer groups are recognized on KMB’s website. When possible, permanent signs acknowledging volunteer groups will be placed at or near their adopted section of waterway.

How do I get involved?
